President

The role of the Harrogate Rambling Club President is to:

  1. Chair the Annual General Meeting and address the meeting on any key issues
  2. Prepare and present the Chairman’s report at the AGM.
  3. Chair all Committee meetings.
  4. In conjunction with the General Secretary, approve the agendas for and the subsequent minutes of the AGM and all Committee meetings.
  5. Review the draft for all four-monthly programmes, apart from walks details.
  6. Answer all important correspondence on behalf of the Club in liaison with the relevant Club Officer.
  7. With other officers, represent the Club at all meetings/presentations involving outside agencies.
  8. Direct promotion and publicity for the Club, primarily to attract new members.
  9. Work closely with Club officers to resolve any specific key problems.
  10. Organise any re-allocation of Committee/Officer duties.
  11. With the Committee, organise a succession plan such that advertisements for replacement Officers and/or Committee members are placed in sufficient time.
  12. Attend the Walks Collectors’ dinner and relay any comments from the Collectors back to the Committee
  13. Introduce the speaker at the Annual Dinner
  14. Advise the Webmaster of the new password to be used to access the Committee Area for the year.
